Thrive Coffee's Kenya Single Origin Coffee is a delicious and well-balanced medium roast with sweet and creamy flavors and tangy fruit acidity. This coffee comes from the Embu region of Kenya, known for producing high-quality beans with flavors of chocolate, apple, and citrus fruit. This single origin coffee is a favorite at Thrive Coffee, and it's perfect for espresso shots, drip coffee, and pour-overs.
The beans for this coffee are sourced from the Kathakwa factory, which is affiliated with the Kibugu Farmer Cooperative Society in Embu County. The factory serves two nearby villages and is managed by John Njue Kamwengu and a team of permanent staff. The beans are processed using the wet method, which involves removing the skin and pulp from the ripe cherry to reveal the green coffee beans. The beans are then fermented overnight, cleaned and density sorted using flowing water, and soaked for 12-24 hours before being placed on raised drying tables for seven to 15 days.
